enables to a weaker player to have a bigger chance of winning
against a stronger one in comparison with classic rapid chess with
equal playing time for both the players.
The time handicap against the stronger player will be
used from our handicap table of ELO rating differences:
Standard FIDE ELO rating valid from 1st September 2017
will be considered for ELO rating difference calculation.
If a Slovak player is FIDE unrated, the national rating
will be applied.
If a foreign player is FIDE unrated, the organizer will
request a proof of national ELO rating of the player.
If a foreign player has no national ELO rating,
the organizer will request a proof of his national chess federation.
If such a player is not able provide us with a written confirmation
from his national federation, the organizer will not allow him to
particpate at the tournament.
Players with no ELO rating will get the basic ELO 1000
for the purposes of the tournament.
Adjusted FIDE rules for rapid chess will be applied.
The only adjustment is the section A.1:
“‘Rapid handicap chess game is one where all the moves must be
completed in a fixed time of at least 1 minute but less
than 20 minutes for each player”.
